Sam Bierstock

MD, BSEE Director

Samuel Bierstock trained in Internal Medicine, is a board-certified Ophthalmologist, an Electrical Engineer, and Clinical Informaticist. Dr. Bierstock has served as the Chief Medical Officer for both IBM's Healthcare Business Development Division and Healthlink, Inc. He is the founder of Champions in Healthcare, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in the development, funding and marketing of innovative technologies in the healthcare industry, including Micro-Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) and Nano technologies in healthcare. Dr. Bierstock is a recipient of the Freedoms Foundation George Washington Medal of Honor for his work on behalf of our veterans.

John Abeles

MS, MD

Dr. John H. Abeles has been the General Partner of Northlea Partners since 1980, specializing in investments in biomedical venture companies with successful and profitable exits. He is also the CEO of MedVest Group, a consulting firm that serves biomedical and other companies. Dr. Abeles holds medical and pharmacology degrees from the University of Birmingham in England. He practiced medicine in London before transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry, where he worked in drug development, marketing, and regulatory affairs. Additionally, he was the first full-time biopharma analyst on Wall Street at a major investment bank for seven years before founding Northlea Partners and MedVest Group.

Marc Glickstein

MD, FACR

Dr. Marc Glickstein, is a radiologist with over 30 years of experience. He trained at Yale University School of Medicine and became Board Certified in Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital. He completed his residency and fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Glickstein spent most of his career as a senior partner in a large private practice group and directed the MRI program at Hartford Hospital. He has held appointments at over 14 hospitals and has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology at the University of Connecticut, contributing to resident education.

Richard Cascio

CPA, FHFMA, Healthcare Operations

Richard Cascio boasts an impressive 40 years of experience in healthcare operations and administration. He has successfully held multiple C-suite positions, including CEO of academic medical centers and tertiary healthcare systems, and has made significant contributions as a CFO, Chief Strategic Officer, and Chief Restructuring Officer. As an equity partner in two prominent international business advisory firms, he has demonstrated his expertise in strategic growth and innovation. Additionally, he previously served as President of a leading international venture capital firm and CEO of a dynamic affiliated start-up company, underscoring his ability to drive success across diverse healthcare landscapes.

Mark Jackson

Dr. Mark Jackson, DO, is a board -certified Emergency Medicine physician with over 40 years of experience in civilian and military emergency care. His expertise includes the role of Rare Earth Elements in healthcare for the military. As the Executive Medical Director at Regenerex Pharma, Inc., he also has a background in pharmacological therapeutics. Dr. Jackson has been deployed multiple times to combat zones, providing critical care to wounded soldiers and coalition forces. He has worked with Forward Surgical Resuscitation Teams (FSRT), treating mass casualty victims in conflict areas like Iraq, Syria, and Africa, often alongside Special Forces. He holds a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and Master’s degrees in Mechanical, Aerospace, and Aviation Systems Engineering. His medical certifications include ATLS, ACLS, BLS, PALS, and AIDS Continuing Education.
